women’s volleyball donates to the Salvation Army
Rustler Student athletes are back on the Lakeland campuses training in their sports, hopeful for a winter season. The student-athletes are also ensuring they are still being engaged in the community where they can.
This past week, the women's volleyball team heard of a need and answered the call. During one of their team meetings, the team agreed to make a donation of feminine hygiene products to the Salvation army. Their donation will help women and girls under 25 who are unable to afford these simple but necessary items.
Team representative Brooklyn Boehm commented, "We sometimes forget how fortunate we are and how some of the things that we take for granted, which are necessities, are a challenge to afford for others. Even though many of us are only living in Lloydminster for a brief time, we are part of the community and the community is a part of us."
