Basketball teams finish the First Semester with Wins
The Rustlers basketball teams wrapped up their first semester of play this weekend with a couple of wins over the King's University Eagles in Edmonton.
The men's team started the evening off in a high-scoring game. Going into the half down by one point the Rustlers gained momentum in the third quarter before turning up the pace in the fourth, outscoring the Eagles 38–11 in the final frame. Artavis Holiday and Shaquai Manswell led the Rustlers scoring 20 and 21 points respectively.
The women's team followed up the men's victory with a win of their own. Different than the men the ladies built a lead in the first quarter and continued quarter by quarter to build on the lead. The Rustlers finished the game with an 82–49 win. Zaya Black and Bilge Topaloglu contributed 15 points each for the Rustlers and Topaloglu also pulled down 8 rebounds for the visiting team.
The next regular-season action for the Rustlers will be January 15th when they play host to the King's University Eagles for the return engagement.
