That's a Wrap - Rustlers Men's Basketball
Lakeland College Athletics enjoyed a season for the ages. Over the next week, we will be sharing a recap of each team's second semester finish.
Results
Men's basketball fought through a number of challenges to post one of the best seasons in years.
The Rustlers went 12-8 in the regular season, which included an eight-game winning streak in the first half. After a thrilling quarterfinal victory, the squad defeated the SAIT Trojans to finish third, their second bronze medal in three years. This despite losing having multiple starters miss large portions of the season.
Highlights
Lakeland clinched home court advantage for the playoffs by beating the RDP Kings in February, before winning their quarterfinal game against the NWP Wolves a week later.
Baha Salma had an excellent second season in Lloydminster, making the ACAC All-Conference 2nd Team in the North and earning a tournament All-Star nod at the ACAC Championship. Andre McFadden was named to the ACAC 1st Team in the North.
Statistics
McFadden finished 5th in points per game (20.6) and 9th in 3-point percentage. Favour Ugbah was 10th in rebounds and steals per game.
Summer Outlook
Several players will be around in Lloydminster for this summer, including a local recuirt in Tyler Gartner and most of the core are slated to return in the fall.

"It was a decent year, to come away with medal after adversity was good. We wanted to get gold and go to nationals, but hopefully we retain most of this group, add some pieces and make a medal run next year."
