Curling Team Kicks off the Season in Edmonton
It has been almost 2 years since the Rustler curling teams were competing on behalf of Lakeland in ACAC competition. This past weekend Lakeland sent a mixed and women's team to the ACAC regional curling competition. The format somewhat reduced this year but the teams are happy to be back on the ice.
The mixed team play to their ability but were unable to secure a victory on Saturday losing both the games they competed in.
The women's team started of well against NAIT in their first game but had a tough 7th end and ended losing a close one to the Ooks. Their second game of the day saw them compete the Concordia Thunder. The Rustlers built a lead and never looked back securing a victory and evening their record for the day at 1 and 1.
The next action for the Rustler teams will be when they travel to Red Deer February 12th for the second regional. The teams will continue to work to build on their play from this previous weekend as they work towards competing for an ACAC medal at the Championships March 5 and 6, 2022.
