Rustlers Celebrate Achievements
Rustlers Athletics held the final event for the 2024-2025 season Tuesday night at the Lloydminster Campus Gymnasium.
Student-athletes, coaches, athletics administration, support staff and family members came out for the annual Rustler Awards Banquet. A celebration of all the successes the athletics program at Lakeland College has enjoyed since September, more than 150 people were present for the festivities, which saw Avery Bates and Brock Tomyn from women's and men's volleyball named as the two Athletes of the Year.
Director of Athletics Alan Rogan, who has one year left at the helm of the Rustlers program, spoke passionately about why he chose to stay on two years longer than planned.
"It was, once again, another a great year for Rustler Athletics when it comes to our 3 pillars - Classroom, Competition, and Community."
Among the team accomplishments were a third straight national title for women's volleyball, the first ACAC title for women's hockey, six top four finishes, nine teams in the playoffs and four championships hosted in Lloydminster.
Women's basketball graduate Alana Olson gave the senior athlete address to end the evening.
