Rustlers named to All Conference Team | February 21, 2018
Four members of the Lakeland Rustlers Women's Volleyball team have been named to the ACAC North Division All-Conference team. Making the All-Conference team are fourth year outside hitters Shelby Becker and Ahnika Kuse, fifth year middle blocker Alyssa Grondin and fourth year setter Rae Sigurdson.
This season, Becker played in 22 matches and 74 sets for the Rustlers, while averaging 2.76 digs and 2.53 kills per set. Becker also leads the ACAC and CCAA in hitting percentage at 0.438.
Kuse also played in 22 matches and 74 sets for the Rustlers this season. Kuse averaged 3.14 kills per set, sitting 4th in the ACAC and 6th in the CCAA with a hitting percentage of 0.392. She also averages 2.23 digs per set and leads the team with 38 service aces on the season.
Grondin played in 22 matches and 72 sets for the Rustlers this season, where she averaged 1.61 kills. Grondin also averaged 0.75 blocks per set, which is second in the ACAC and tied for 5th in the CCAA.
Running the offense for the Rustlers is Sigurdson, who has played in all 24 matches and all but two sets this season. Sigurdson leads the team, ACAC, and CCAA in assists, averaging 9.59 per set. Sigurdson is second on the team with 32 service aces, while also averaging 1.48 digs per set.
Becker, Kuse, Grondin, and Sigurdson were named to the All-Conference team at the ACAC Volleyball Championships Awards Banquet. The ACAC Volleyball Championships run from February 22-24th at the University of Alberta – Alberta in Camrose.
