Rustlers Women's Soccer | Weekend Recap - Sept 21, 2019
The Rustlers women's soccer team would show a dominant performance in their first win of the season against the Portage College Voyageurs with a score 7-0.
The Rustlers had consistent dominance for the whole game scoring 4 goals in the first half and 3 in the second half. Davis Bone led the scoring with 3 goals, while Sarah Costa, Teigan McDonald, Kimberlea Pfeil, and Ophelia Gasser added to the total with 1 goal each.
Coach Laith Matlak was impressed with the ladies' performance and added that it was "good to see some success for the players from all the hard work being put in, with hopefully more to come."
Player of the game for the Rustlers was first-year midfielder, Ophelia Gasser.
The Rustlers will return to the pitch to face the Voyageurs in a rematch this coming Saturday, September 28th at 12 pm in Lac la Biche at Portage College. They will also take on the King's University Eagles back at VLA field in Lloydminster on Sunday, September 29th at 12 pm.
