Rustlers Women’s Basketball announce Recruits for 2018 Season
Lakeland Rustlers Women's Basketball is proud to announce the signing of their first two recruits for the 2018 season. Jeanelle Charchuk ( Hines Creek, AB) and Jordan Schram (Sexsmith, AB) have both signed letters of intent to play for the Rustlers in the 2018-2019 season.
Charchuck, a 5'9 guard, led her Hines Creek Composite Tigers to back to back 1A Provincial Championship appearances where she averaged 14ppg. She was also the GPRC Wolves High School game MVP in 2016/2017 and has been a member of the Warriors Basketball Program out of Peace River.
"We are extremely excited about the addition of Jeanelle for the 2018 season. She can get baskets in a wide variety of ways; she competes very hard and is strong on the ball. We think that she has the ability to come in and contribute immediately to a strong returning core next season" claims Coach King.
Schram a 6'4 post has been a member of her Sexsmith Secondary Sabres. She was also a member of Northern Energy Basketball, coached by current 2nd Year Rustler Allison Pilgrim.
"When you watch Jordan, you immediately notice her size, but she has above average footwork and has started to develop some inside moves. We are looking for her to provide an immediate inside presence on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor, with her rebounding and scoring ability," said Coach King
The addition of Charchuk and Schram will help solidify the Rustlers roster after the departures of 5th Years Kellsey Sinnett (Forward) and Shania Magnusson (Post) at the end of this season.
The Rustlers currently sit in first place in the ACAC North with a record of 9-3 and will resume their conference schedule on January 19th when the travel to Keyano for a pair of road games.
