Lakeland student-athletes fill 34 Canadian College Finals Rodeo spots
Twenty-two Lakeland College student-athletes on the Rustlers Athletics Rodeo Team will take up 34 Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Canadian College Finals Rodeo spots.
The team is heading to the Silver Sage Community Corral in Brooks, Alta. from March 28-30 to compete for buckles in nine categories, including season leaders Jennifer Schuk, breakaway roping, and Brayden Lelek, steer wrestling and tie down roping.
Last year, 24 Lakeland student-athletes competed for buckles in 11 finals categories and rounded up four. This year's Lakeland Rodeo Team members are competing in the following categories:
Pole Bending: Layne Guest, Cheyenne Hagen, Josey Millward and Lilly Artemenko
Barrel Racing: Spencer Young and Layne Guest
Breakaway Roping: Jennifer Schuk, Fayth Panchuk and Lilly Artemenko
Goat Tying: Josey Millward and Jaclyn Noll
Steer Wrestling: Brayden Lelek, Ty Livingstone, Quinten Van Staten and Brayden Roch
Tie Down Roping: Brayden Lelek, Riley McClintock, Quinton Van Straten, Brayden Roch, Johnny Wrubleski and Cayden Spady
Team Roping Headers: Brayden Lelek, Riley McClintock, Ty Livingstone, Kallie Desranleau, Cayden Spady and Ty Zaft
Team Roping Heelers: KC Seitz, Fayth Panchuk, Johnny Wrubleski, Luke Smith and Riley Park
Saddle Bronc: Tyrell Simpson and Richard Craig
