Trio of Rustlers Selected to Men’s Volleyball All Conference Team
Three members of the Lakeland Rustlers men's volleyball team were selected to the ACAC north all-conference team for the 2018 – 2019 season.
Alexei Walisser a third-year Business student-athlete from Peace River, AB played in all 24 matches and 87 sets for the Rustlers this season. The 6'5" outside hitter totaled 287 kills for an average of 3.3 kills per set which ranked him 6th in the ACAC. Alexei also amassed 28 serve aces which was good enough for 4th overall in the north division.
Tyler Williamson a third-year University Transfer student-athlete from Creighton, SK. also played in all 24 matches and was on the floor for 89 sets. The 6'5" middle totaled 62 blocks over the season averaging 0.70 blocks per set which ranked him 6th in blocks per set in the ACAC.
Jean Carlo Funez a third-year Business student-athlete from Tegucigalpa, Hondurus competed in 23 matches and 86 sets this season. Known for playing fearless defense, the 5'7" libero gained 229 digs for a 2.66 digs per set average which ranked him 6th in the ACAC.
Williamson, Walisser and Funez were presented with their all-conference awards at the men's volleyball championship banquet hosted by NAIT in Edmonton. The ACAC Volleyball Men's Volleyball Championships run from February 21- 23.
