Men's soccer season wraps up against Red Deer
The Rustlers men's soccer team played their final game of the regular season this weekend against the Red Deer Kings, losing the match 4-1.
The Kings took a 2-0 lead into the half on goals in the 38th and 46th+ minutes. The Kings would add to their lead in the 63rd minute, to take a 3-0 lead, before Elijah Jennings would find the back of the net for the Rustlers in the 77th minute, cutting the Kings lead to 3-1. The Kings would score once more before the game was over to come away with the 4-1 victory. Elijah Jennings was named the Rustlers Player of the Game.
Rustlers Head Coach Kevin Wagner spoke about the challenges his team has faced and season results.
"We don't have many options," Wagner said, "we can't ask someone short to be tall. I have been disappointed with our results, but I haven't been surprised with them. We just have to stick with the course and begin working towards futsal and next season.
The Rustlers finished the regular season with a 1-6-3 record and will soon begin training for futsal.
