Rustlers Men's Basketball | Weekend Recap - Feb 14 & 15, 2020
The Rustlers men's basketball team lost both of their games to the Augustana Vikings this past weekend.
On Friday night in Lloydminster, the Rustlers fell to the Vikings by a score of 81-100. At the half, the Rustlers were up 46-43.
The Rustlers began to falter in the third quarter, where the Vikings would go up 62-58 by the end of it. In the fourth quarter the Vikings would capitalize on the faltering Rustlers, where they would score 38 points to the Rustlers 23. The Vikings would win the game by 19 points, 100-81.
The Rustlers were led by guard, Terrell Murdaugh with 19 points, 2 assists, and 5 steals. Fourth-year guard, Adrian Richards had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal for the Rustlers, earning him player of the game. Third-year forward, Kwantez Simmons had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.
On Saturday, the Rustlers lost to the Vikings 59-84. The Rustlers had a strong start and would be up 18-15 over the Vikings. The Rustlers had some defensive breakdowns in the second quarter, allowing the Vikings to go up 40-35 at the half.
The Vikings would continue to pull away from the Rustlers in the second half of the game and would win the game with a score of 84-59.
The Rustlers were led by Adrian Richards with 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists, earning him his second player of the game for the weekend. Forward, Paul Smith-Profit with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.
Fourth-year guard, Brandon Isaac added 8 points 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal for the Rustlers, and Terrell Murdaugh had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal.
The Rustlers men's basketball team are sitting at a record of 9-11 and are currently battling for a spot at the ACAC Conference Championships at the beginning to March.
