Rustlers Men's Curling head to Fredericton
The Lakeland Rustlers men's curling team played their way to a bronze medal finish at the ACAC Curling Championships less than two weeks ago. Now, the team will have a chance to compete for a national medal when they travel to the CCAA Curling Championships being held from March 15-19 in Fredericton, NB.
The team consists of Carter Babij, Dale Mizera, Connor English and Jared Mason, and while they played well together from the beginning of the season, they constantly improved as the season went on.
The team began the season with a 5th place finish at the Fall Regional, where they went 2-4 over the weekend. During the two months between the Fall and Winter Regionals, the team showed signs of improvement, and appeared ready to take the next step against ACAC competition. At the Winter Regional, the team played their way to a 3-3 record, finishing the two regional tournaments with a combined 5-7 record, qualifying them for the ACAC Curling Championships.
At the ACAC Curling Championships, the Rustlers would show everyone how much they improved over the season, coming away with a bronze medal and a spot at the CCAA Curling Championships.
