Rustlers Weekend Recap - October 13, 2025
As Lakeland celebrates Thanksgiving, Rustlers Athletes gears up for the busiest stretch of the fall.
Rustlers Soccer
The soccer squads went on the road against the Portage Voyageurs in Lac La Biche Thursday evening, where both came up short. The women lost 1-0, while the men lost 2-1. Ben Touw was the lone goal scorerer.
Saturday, the teams had their final home games, where the women were able to hold off the Voyageurs in a 1-0 shutout. Addison Allen was the goal scorer and POG. The men lost 3-1, despite a curious finish, Vinny Da Silva scored the goal and Touw was the POG.
Rustlers Exhibition
Men's basketball kicked the weekend off with a friendly against the NAIT Ooks. While the team worked through some inconcistency on the court, they were still able to win 74-59.
What's Coming Up
Soccer heads out to Fort McMurray to face the Keyano Huskies this coming weekend, while women's hockey hold a 3-game homestand against the Olds Broncos.
The basketball teams open their season Friday night at home against the Briercrest Clippers and then face the Medicine Hat Rattlers the following evening.
Finally, rowing will have their team time trials Sunday morning and rodeo are hosting their Fall Classic on October 18 & 19. Both events take place in Vermilion.
